Mistakes are part of creation. Nothing is flawless. Usually mistakes are small and only visible to us as makers. This project had a catastrophic design error that manifested itself as soon as the table began to acclimate to the living room. 

Reclaimed Santos mahogany is an incredibly dense wood. It started to expand and the resulting pressure produced cracks that appeared with the sound of a gunshot. Needless to say, this made watching television a less than relaxing experience. The clients were happy with a new top, redesigned to match their TV cabinet.
